Scenery used during live and pre-recorded television broadcasts.
Opportunity
Just like print media, websites and other digital experiences, television scenery needs to represent a network or local television station’s brand identity and needs to be reflective of the community of which they serve. Because the effort and expense to update the scenery, the “sets” need to be designed in a way to ensure they don’t look outdated and can serve multiple purposes.
My Role
I was responsible for creating 3D models of the scenery, high-resolution renderings, drafting detailed CAD construction documentation and sourcing finish materials (paint, carpet, hardware, furniture, etc.). I would work closely with the owner of the firm to optimize the 3D models by using a technique that mimics the way a television director would compose the various shots viewer see when watching tv.
